Studioenp: What’s your favourite drink and why?
Lakyshia Shelton: Pepsi, because my dad drank a lot of Coca-Cola so I wanted something different and started drinking Pepsi.
Studioenp: Pepsi is much better! What’s on your bucket list?
Lakyshia Shelton: I don’t have a bucket list.
Studioenp: If you had to eat the same meal every day, what would it be?
Lakyshia Shelton: I would eat Shepherd’s Pie with meatloaf and mac & cheese.
Studioenp: What’s your phobia and why?
Lakyshia Shelton: Heights and snakes, but I don’t know why, I am just terrified of heights and snakes.
Studioenp: Snakes aren’t pleasant! In your spare time—if you have any!—what’s the thing you do that makes you feel the most you?
Lakyshia Shelton: I love to read, write, listen to music, and act silly with my children.
Studioenp: Hooray for acting silly! Are you an extrovert or introvert?
Lakyshia Shelton: A little bit of both because I am really shy when it comes to meeting new people but I am a very outgoing person when people get to know me.
Studioenp: Tell us one thing about yourself that not many people know.
Lakyshia Shelton: I do not like people to look me in my eyes because I feel like people can see my life story and read me through my eyes.
Studioenp: If money were no object, what’s the first thing you’d buy just for yourself?
Lakyshia Shelton: I would buy me a house and a car.
Studioenp: What’s one outrageous thing you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t had the courage?
Lakyshia Shelton: Ride or even get on a horse.
Studioenp: What’s the best thing you’ve ever done?
Lakyshia Shelton: The best thing I have ever done was have my children and to not be a high school graduate but was still smart enough to write books and give my parents a reason to be proud of me.
Studioenp: Thank you so much for being here with us today. We wish you well with your books!
